COMMUNITY COOPERATIVE - THESIS PROJECT
I’ve been thinking about the contributing factors to the high rate of African American exposure and death due to COVID-19. To make a long story short, I’ve been thinking about solutions. My design thesis focused on repurposing a building in Crown Heights, Brooklyn into a Food Coop (as a model for bringing a wide variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, and even jobs into the neighborhood), a Community Arts & Music Center for children, and affordable Coop Apartments for people who have been displaced by gentrification.
I would love to connect with people who are interested in working together to create food coops in across America. I’ve added the first quarter of my thesis program, which provides some research about food deserts.
